11th January - 26th February 2010

Keep It in the Lines, The Point, 16 South Parade, Doncaster DN1 2DR, T: 01302 341662

Inspired by the touring exhibition "My Giant Colouring Book" at Doncaster Museum which will feature the work of Jake and Dinos Chapman, the Gallery at The Point is working with four Fringe artists who will be making new work using the theme of colouring books as inspiration.

Mandy Keating is creating a giant fold out book and pop-ups, Kate Sully is making a giant butterfly shaped book, Naomi Cotrufo is creating embroidered and stitched panels and sketchbooks and Susan Forbes will make new work using the tales which we tell to children as her inspiration.

November 2009

Gallery 12A, 12A South Parade, Doncaster DN1 2DY Friday 20th November 10-4pm

Discover the ancient art of book making.
No experience necessary, just a willingness to have fun and create something beautiful yet functional in a peaceful atmosphere.
In the workshop you will make a complete book, hand-sewn onto tape or ribbon enclosures, with exposed spine and attached covered boards. The boards will be covered with a choice of unusual and recycled materials.
The book will lay flat when opened, making it suitable for a variety of purposes, such as journal, sketchbook, album, or even the ideal Christmas gift.
A five hour session will cost £45 including materials and equipment. This is a great way to learn a new skill and recycle some of your old material.
